RADIATION MONITORING SYSTEM RAMON | |
PURPOSE
This software package is intended for organizing a distributed system of radiation data acquisition from devices connected to the data acquisition centre
through modems.
COMPONENTS OF THE SYSTEM
The radiation monitoring system comprises
- various measuring devices (detectors,
spectrometers,
Yantar radiation monitors) integrated into a single system through control panels (PVTs-01)
and telephone lines;
- a database to store information on the structure of the system and measurement results received from the measuring devices;
- software to control the system and to collect, view, and analyse data coming from the devices.
The software includes the Data Viewing and Control program, the Data Acquisition program, and the Web Application for Archives
Viewing.
DATABASE
Information on the structure of the system and information coming from the devices is stored in the MS Access database.
The system is a hierarchical structure of objects. Objects are geographical points as well as panels and measuring devices located at them.
The database contains information on positions of control panels, telephone numbers, and addresses of devices connected to the panels.
Devices can generate three types of messages: an event description, measured data, and measured spectra.
All events and data coming from the devices are divided into three categories according to the level of danger: norm, warning, and alarm.
Each type of events is assigned a certain level of danger. For data, the level of danger is dictated by the excess over the preset thresholds of the
measured quantity.
DATA VIEWING AND CONTROL
The radiation monitoring Data Viewing Program serves to view and analyse information from the measuring devices making up a certain system.
The program allows
- building and viewing the structural scheme of the system;
- changing particular properties of objects;
- getting information on events and measured data from the devices in the
tabulated and graphical form;
- importing and exporting spectra from the file to the database and back in
the special spc and spe formats;
- seeing the level of danger of the constituent objects in the map of the
facility;
- getting a report on the status of the object over a certain period of time;
- getting information on the arising alarm events.
DATA
ACQUISITION
The program allows automatic collection of data from the measuring devices connected to the PVTs-01 control panel.
The control panels are connected to the computer through modems. Direct connection to the computer through the RS-232 interface is possible.
WEB APPLICATION
The application makes it possible to view the information on the components of the system, set data viewing parameters, and view the earlier
accumulated information from the devices in accordance with the preset parameters.
